With all the talk about recycling, I started feeling like I wasn’t doing my part. I decided I could do more even if the facilities weren’t convenient or close. I could rinse out cans and store them in my basement to take north to a recycling center. The thought of the stench that would create quickly halted my good intentions. Then I realized, hey, I do recycle.
Check out these canning jars. Some of these babies date back to before I was born.
And how many people do you know that scour the shelves at Sam’s Club for the perfect jar of pickles so it can be reused as a milk jar. No plastic jugs or cartons at this house.
Yep. I’m a master recycler. And that’s what I’ll be up to this week: recycling more of those pint and quart jars into bottles of beans, salsa and peaches.
I like your jar post, because I love glass jars! I used to buy the pickles and whatever I could find in the large ones, too, and that’s what I used to put my cookies in to sell. I had to get all the pickle flavor out with baking soda.
