Egg collecting is this little cowboy’s job. If he’s having a bad day with overbearing siblings, I’ll ask if he’s collected eggs yet. His sniffles and tears quickly melt away as he grabs the egg basket and disappears out the door.
See the sand paper in the bottom of the basket? That’s part of his job, too. If there is any manure on an egg, he uses the sandpaper to clean it off. Washing the egg removes its protective coating which allows bacteria entrance. Eggs are porous so you don’t want to wash it off with water or you’ll send all the bacteria into the egg. Once all the eggs are clean he transfers them to the egg carton. And that just makes a boy happy.
