1) Go somewhere warm which equals south.
2) Go somewhere we could hike.
3) Go somewhere we’d never been (or even heard of).
Kodachrome Basin State Park fit the bill. Plus it had rocks for the kids to climb.
Even the baby had fun. BTW–I love whoever invented the Bumbo.
It was so nice to get away with just our little family and have fun together. We were even able to start back in with our nighttime reading ritual. (Soccer season is too chaotic–we have to wait until its over for bedtime stories.) We took along the third book, The Home Ranch, in the Little Britches series by Ralph Moody. We LOVE these books.
Speaking of books . . .
I promised a giveaway! Okay, so here’s what you need to do to be entered to win A Christmas to Remember:
Leave a comment telling one of your favorite places to go for a family vacation.
That’s it. Easy Peasy.
Random.org will help me select a winner on Friday night. Look for the announcement Saturday morning.
What a good-looking group! We love going to Midway and St. George!
Our favorite family vacation is anywhere we are all together. One of the most fun was a trip to the Bahamas. The “brave” family members wanted to use there scuba diving skills and in Utah there aren’t many places to do that.
We usually went camping, but time we had a family in Oregon so we drove up the California coast to Oregon. I located on the web – lighthouses along the way and we found every lighthouse! Some were privately owned but we saw them from a distance and stopped others that were open to public. It increased my love for lighthouses and have several books about their histories.
One of our favorite holidays was when we took a road trip to Washington state and took in a few Mariners games and toured the University of Washington. On that same holiday we drove up to British Columbia to visit some friends who had moved there. You can never go wrong with that combination.
My favorite Vacation was to Ketchican Alaska. I love love loved it. So beautiful so exciting so new to me. The best part was…..no kids!
Jenni–Midway is a good place year round.
Diana–Scuba diving is on my bucket list . . someday.
Debby–I love lighthouses. What a great idea!
Sheila–I think Nate would go for that kind of vacation.
Name (required)–Is that you Lisle? A couples getaway sounds too good to be true.
We just got back from an anniversary trip to Tuscon, which included several national and state parks along they way. It was a blast, but I know that Bryce really wants to take the kiddos to Disneyland.
Katrina yes this is Lisle. I don’t know how to put my name on it. I haven’t really tried to figure it out but if you let me know I will do it. I sure hope I win the give away!
I loved our trip to Arizona that we took one December. It was so much warmer there, but everyone kept apologizing because it was so much colder than usual.
